arms-trafficking

Narcotics | Counterfeit | Currency | FMG

Illicit trade affects a staggering proportion of legal trade and its revenue. It deprives nations of their taxes and affects the well-being of people. Illicit trade includes narcotics, and counterfeit products such as food and medicines. Wildlife, timber and human trafficking converge with these other illicit trades. Customs laws are broken, organised crime laws are transgressed, financial, trade, fraud and other laws are broken. Therefore trafficking reaches far beyond wildlife and human rights legislation.

We work with partners to identify where trafficking can be subject to legal attack, and what the most powerful avenue is. This can be particularly powerful where convergence exists.
